There may be a problem in finding the place, as well as finding the
entrance, if you are not familiar with downtown
Indianapolis
. Please follow these
instructions while referring to the map (but not while driving).
Location:
225 South East Street
(not to be confused with
Southeastern Avenue
). The Farm Bureau building is a
new, large brick building. It, and
the parking area, occupies the entire block between College on the East, and
East Street
on the West, with
Georgia
on the North and
Louisiana
on the South. This is inside the
I-65 loop. The streets are quiet,
with little traffic on Sundays.
Directions from the North-West:
Take I 65 South to where it approaches the downtown area, and
turns East for a while, then turns South to join West-bound I-70.
Continue South, get in the right lane, and immediately watch for the
Fletcher Ave.
Exit. Take the
Fletcher Ave.
Exit. *
At Fletcher Ave.
, turn right on Fletcher,
go to the junction of
Fletcher Ave., South
St.
, and College, and turn right onto College which is one way north.
Get into the left lane immediately and turn left at
Georgia St
. The Farm Bureau Home Office
Building is on your left. Then read the “Entering” instructions below.
If you miss Fletcher, take the next Exit (East St. Exit) then check the
map on facing page.
Directions from the East: Take
I-70 West to Indy. When the road
turns South (where the speed limit is reduced to 45 miles per hour)
get in the right lane and be prepared to exit at the
Fletcher Ave.
Exit. At
Fletcher Ave.
, continue by following the instructions, starting with the bold underlined
words, “
At Fletcher Ave.
” (with the asterisk) in the third line of the paragraph above.
If you miss Fletcher, take the next Exit (East St. Exit) then check the
map on facing page.
Directions from the South-East: Take I-65 North to Indy.
As you near the downtown area, prepare to
follow I-70 West (“to
St Louis
”) get in the right lane and be prepared to exit right at the first exit.
Follow the street North until
you come to
South Street
. Turn right (East) and go to
College. Turn left on College
(one way north) and stay in the left lane. Turn
left at
Georgia Street
. The Farm Bureau Home Office
Building is on your left. Then read
the “Entering” instructions below.
Directions from the West: Take I-70
East to Indy. Take the Illinois
Street Exit (the next one East of the West St. Exit).
This Exit allows two choices for North-bound streets.
The first one is
Illinois St.
and the second takes you North on
Madison Ave.
Take either one to the left and go
N. to South Street. Turn
right (East) and go to the Junction of South Street with
Virginia
Ave. (NW to SE) and
S. East Street
. Turn left on
East St.
, go past
Louisiana St.
to
Georgia St.
and turn right. The Farm Bureau
Home Office is on your right.
Entering Instructions: Drive
to the north side of the building on Georgia St., pull in at the ground
level employees parking area with the cement slab parking area
overhead. There may be an arm blocking the way.
If so, talk into the speaker to identify yourself as a nut grower and the
guard will raise the bar so you can enter and park.
Enter the building on ground level near the guard station, level one.
Turn left at the first hallway and again left into our meeting room.
Do not park in the front (on the West).
The visitors lot at the front door is locked on weekends.
